I have always dreamed of running a business or several of my own.

First, I wanted to build luxury summer houses, both for resale and to rent out myself. But when I was apprenticed as a carpenter, I was struck by Gout. Despite that, I didn't give up on my dream of being self-employed and I then went on to study as a Construction Technician. Something more had to happen and as time went by I got better and better, so suddenly I bought an inn at a foreclosure, together with my father. However, he quickly returned home to Norway, where he lived. Then I took care of it myself and 1.5 years later it was up and running, with a full house  every night. However, after 2 years, I chose to sell it again, got divorced, now got Arthritis disease no. 2 and was declared 80% disabled. I was asked to accept disability pension at the age of only 36. It was not what I wanted but was forced to do it. At the beginning of 1999 I opened a cleaning company, 3 months later we had 7 employees.

At that time I was introduced to Micro Franchise. And I'm happy that I was openminded enogh to have a look because it turned out to be one of the best decisions in my life. So together with my wife, who unfortunately died in 2017, I got to the top in just 5 weeks. We thought the view was so good that we decided to stay there for many years. The company has ever since paid for many trips around the world, we got profit sharing, car plan etc, etc. But the best thing was that we could be close with our children (2 boys and a bonus daughter) even though we were self-employed, since we worked a lot from home. We built a good solid business which gave us a residual income. It was great and helped us when my wife got sick so I could look after her right up til the day she died. I have ever since been able to live on a residual income, but I still have dreams that need to be fulfilled and new ones have appeared. So I am now in the process of paying them off. I am in the process of building my Micro Franchise business to reach great heights.

I am deeply grateful that we/I got the opportunity back in 1999. It has given us many opportunities and even larger experiences. So my good advice to you would be, be openminded enough to just have a look and I can promise you that with just a little bit of hard work you can also make your dreams come through.
